Title: Shift Supervisor
Pay: From £12.71 per hour
If you join us at our newly refitted venue as a Shift Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for supporting the day-to-day running of your venue area, ensuring beverages are delivered to the highest standard for our customers while maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient working environment alongside your new team.
The role will involve supervising front-of-house and back-of-house teams, assisting with stock control, and ensuring all food safety and hygiene standards are met. The Shift Supervisor will work closely with the management team to maintain consistency, support staff development, and help deliver an excellent overall experience for customers.
Key responsibilities:
- Legislation – Keeping up to date with licensing legislation, liaising with the authorities and taking overall legal responsibility for the premises (including Challenge 25 policy)
- Staff – Support Managers to ensure training and motivation of all staff working in the venue and all staff adhere to policies.
- Recruitment- Highlight any gaps in resource with Managers and support where needed
- Support on Staff Scheduling – assess the needs of the business to meet customer demand and staff the venue accordingly, by producing rotas on rolling monthly basis when required
- Service – Oversee the service of food and beverages and have overall responsibility for the service standards of the venue
- Staff Breaks – ensure staff breaks are given in accordance with current employment law and in consideration of the demands of the business
- Stock Control – Support with Conducting weekly/monthly stock takes, ensure stock rotation and replenish stock as efficiently as possible. Stock must be input into the tills so that stock can be monitored. Any deliveries should be checked against order form before accepting. Any stock needs to be input correctly into system before sale.
- Cellar Management – movement of beer to the bar, preparation of beer for dispense and ensure good condition of all beers. Line cleaning to be completed weekly Sunday evenings after close. Adhere to industry standard Cellar Management Practice. Ensure all empty kegs and casks are disposed of properly
- Hygiene – Support the Managers and cleaning team to ensure hygiene of the bar and associated facilities (Toilet checks/maintenance etc) is of a high standard, and any issues with facilities should be reported to appropriate person to fix.
- Open And Close – Overall responsibility of cleanliness and all actions completed on checklists for open and close, liaise with cleaning team on any issues
- Health & Safety – Ensure all working within the venue do so in compliance with Health & Safety standards
- Complaints – dealing with customer complaints and/or challenging customers and highlight any issues with Management.
- Events – Work with the management to fulfil all event requirements in line with set process.
- Ensure incident log maintained
- Ensure any maintenance issues are reported immediately

Required Qualifications/Experience
Essential:
- A good standard of GCSE education
- Good knowledge of the Craft Beer sector and the on and off trade
- A good understanding of Cellar Management and Beer Dispense
- Customer service experience
- Leadership and organisational abilities
- Good interpersonal skills
- Problem-solving attitude
- Flexibility to work in shifts
Desired:
- Personal Alcohol License
- 2 years+ experience working in a bars of the on trade
