As part of our recent major brand refresh, we have also reviewed the range of styles and ABVs across our Signature range. Our goal is to ensure we cover the main styles and strengths that people drink most of, so we can offer a good choice to our trade customers and you, the beer drinker.
We felt that our Signature cask didn’t quite offer the differentiation we would like, with Calmer Chameleon pale and Fennec blonde being the same ABVs with a similar mouthfeel.
Calmer Chameleon is a recipe we have refined several times, and so we decided to lean in to this familiarity to tweak Calmer and brew it with more body at a higher ABV of 4.1%. By making these changes we have been able to fill some gaps in the Signature range and offer a clearer choice.
The result is a truly excellent new edition of Calmer Chameleon – a fuller mouthfeel with great head retention, and a little more bite due to the slightly higher alcohol content.
The downside is that, unfortunately Calmer cask beer is no longer gluten-free due to the changes we’ve had to make to achieve this. We will continue to review this.
Fennec, our Blonde Ale, continues to be gluten-free and remaining at 3.4% it continues to offer a lighter alternative.
