Dungeons & Flagons is a double dry-hopped pale ale, launched to mark a new partnership between two York legends, Brew York and The York Dungeon. The pair have teamed up to celebrate 2000 years of York’s dark and grizzly history!
The beer design itself is a homage to both organisations, featuring four of The York Dungeon’s most notorious rogues; the Torturer, Isabella Billington, Ivar the Boneless and dastardly highwayman Dick Turpin.
Mark Mattinson, General Manager of The York Dungeon said “We are absolutely delighted to be collaborating with Brew York on ‘Dungeons & Flagons’! Brew York’s brand and ethos are a great fit for ours, and I have really enjoyed watching their brewery develop over recent years. They perfectly captured the York Dungeon in the artwork for the cans and the pump clips, and it tastes pretty punchy too, which is an ideal match for the “in your face” entertainment that we provide at the Dungeon.”
“Sustainability is really important to us, and by working with a brewery who brews their beer on the outskirts of the City, it doesn’t have to travel too far to get to our gift shop, and working with fellow local businesses is really what tourism and hospitality in York is all about. I am sure that this will be the first of many great Brew York and York Dungeon collaborations. Cheers!”
Jess Chaney, York Sales Executive at Brew York, adds “York Dungeon is a bustling tourist attraction at the heart of York, and we are really excited to work with the team there. Both organisations are hugely passionate about York and we very much see this partnership as a celebration of this place we love. We hope this beer is just the start of a longer term project.”
Dungeon & Flagons is on sale now on the Brew York web store as well as in The York Dungeon gift shop. Look out for the beer also popping up in bars and hotels around York.
