To mark Yorkshire Day 2025, two iconic Yorkshire breweries – Brew York and Kelham Island Brewery – have teamed up to launch a brand-new collaboration beer: Yorkshire Rider, a bold and modern Pale Ale inspired by Kelham Island’s award-winning classic, Pale Rider.

Yorkshire Rider
This limited-edition beer has been specially brewed to celebrate Yorkshire Day on 1st August, honouring the region’s proud brewing heritage with a fresh, modern twist. Expect vibrant citrus and pine aromas, subtle floral undertones, and a crisp, balanced bitterness. It’s everything you’d want from a Pale Ale – brewed by two proud Yorkshire breweries.
The beer’s artwork also pays tribute to the region by featuring an illustration of a notable Yorkshireman riding horseback – a familiar face from screen and stage. Can you figure out who it is?
Based in the heart of York, Brew York is known for its innovative approach to craft beer and its deep roots in the Yorkshire beer scene. Since launching in 2016, the brewery has grown into one of the region’s most recognised and respected names.
Kelham Island Brewery, a true legend of Sheffield and Yorkshire brewing, was established in 1990 and played a key role in kickstarting the modern British beer movement. Its flagship beer, Pale Rider, remains a beloved classic to this day.
“We’re incredibly proud to be working with Kelham Island on this release for Yorkshire Day,” said Wayne Smith, Director at Brew York.
“Their Pale Rider was a major influence on so many of us – so to create Yorkshire Rider together is a brilliant way to honour that legacy and bring something fresh to today’s drinkers.”
Yorkshire Rider is available now from brewyork.co.uk, Brew York bars and taprooms, and will be served at selected Sheffield venues on Thursday 1st August for Yorkshire Day.
