Introducing Poisoned Chalice, brewed in collaboration with York Minster to mark the 800th anniversary of William of York. Inspired by the legend of William’s alleged poisoning from a chalice during Mass, this commemorative best bitter offers a far more enjoyable ending. A crisp, balanced traditional best bitter, it combines toasty malt, gentle caramel sweetness and Brew York’s hallmark hoppy character.

Part of the Minster’s 2026 Crafting a Legacy celebrations, Poisoned Chalice honours York’s rich artisan heritage — from medieval craftsmen to modern craft brewers. A beer rooted in history, brewed for today
