We can confirm that we have suffered a fire in our city centre taproom on Walmgate, York.
We were alerted in the early hours of Tuesday morning (16th September) of the incident which occurred in our external riverside beer garden towards the rear of the property, overlooking the river Foss. Thankfully this was confined to the outside area and no one was on site at the time and, although it has caused some damage to the beer garden, we are working hard to keep the impact to our day to day operations to a minimum.
At this time we’re unable to confirm how the fire started, however we can confirm the Beerhall will be open for business as usual today.
We would like to thank the North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service for their prompt response and dealing with this issue so quickly.
