We are incredibly proud to announce that our new hazy IPA, Coney, has been announced as a GOLD winner in the Pale Ale category of the 2023 SIBA Independent Beer Award Bottle & Can competition – the UK’s leading bottled and canned beer competition where fully anonymised beers are judged by brewers, beer sommeliers and expert tasters.
SIBA has said that this year’s competition was the biggest ever, and Coney was one of only three GOLD winners in the North East region.
Only launched in late 2023, Coney is the result of three years of hard work to develop a new session pale, fit for modern times and perfect for people who love the hoppiness and juiciness of an IPA and want something sessionable. Combine that with a soft mouthfeel and honestly, it’s such a satisfying sup.
Since we moved to our state-of-the-art production facility in 2020, we’ve been working hard on our pale beer portfolio. We’ve experimented, evolved and mastered so many techniques since then, so it was time for something new in our Signature range. Such an early win for Coney is testament to the skill of our brewing team and we’re excited about the future for this beer.
The winning bottled and canned beers from the North East will now go forward to fight it out with the best from across the UK in the National finals, taking place in early 2024.
Here’s the full article and the full list of regional winners. Bring on the finals, and good luck to all the other breweries!
