Following on from the release of our International Women’s Day release, Raise Your Lasses, we are now sharing a series of images featuring some of the women in our team who were involved in the 2024 IWD project.
These black and white portraits are intentionally more serious than our typical content as we nod to the importance of creating a beer industry that is more diverse, safe, and welcoming to all. We’d love to see more women working in all kinds of roles in the beer industry, and we know that representation is important in inspiring this movement.

In no more than five words, tell us what your job involves?
Administrative support for the Finance Team (okay, that’s six but I promise I CAN count!)
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I love the interactions across all areas of the business.
What’s your advice to any women out there who are interested in a career in beer but aren’t sure it’s for them?
I entered the brewing industry later in my career because I wanted to explore and understand it more deeply. If you’re curious, you should give it a try too. Don’t let self-doubt hold you back—if you have the interest and the willingness to learn, you can succeed.

Building relationships by selling beer
What do you enjoy most about your job?
The part of my job that I enjoy the most is getting out there and being able to meet and talk to accounts and venues in the North East.
What’s your advice to any women out there who are interested in a career in beer but aren’t sure it’s for them?
Definitely hold your own! Women and non-binary people are a minority in this industry but be that person that can help change that, if you are interested in beer then the industry is for you!

Exporting our beer worldwide 🌏
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I’m one of those annoying people that really loves every day of work. There is a great mix of social and admin, and I’m lucky to have the opportunity to travel to wonderful cities to pour and sell our beers. I am given the trust and freedom to do what I need to, and as a working mother I am also given the flexibility to handle a young family.
What’s your advice to any women out there who are interested in a career in beer but aren’t sure it’s for them?
The beer industry is indeed dominated by men, but do not let your lack of a Y chromosome stop you from working in a great industry. Some of the best brewers, sales reps, events coordinators and marketing gurus that I have met in the industry are women, and we need more of you.
NAME | Rachel Auty

Promoting our brand and beers
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I love the opportunities to be creative, working on design concepts, campaigns and copy to engage beer lovers and get the right messages out in the right way.
What’s your advice to any women out there who are interested in a career in beer but aren’t sure it’s for them?
We need more women role models in this industry and I would urge them to rally against the idea that it’s not a place for them. It definitely is, and you’ll inspire others to follow. That’s when real change happens. A more diverse beer industry is good for everyone.
